Bakrid Mehndi Designs 2025: Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid Qurban, Qurban Bayarami, or Bakrid, is called the ‘Feast of the Sacrifice.’ It’s one of the two biggest Islamic holidays that Muslims celebrate all over the world. The other big festival is Eid al-Fitr, which comes right after Ramadan the month when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. Eid al-Fitr usually happens around May or June every year.
When and How Eid al-Adha is Celebrated
This year, Saudi Arabia celebrates Eid al-Adha on July 31. In India, most places like Delhi will celebrate it a day later on August 1. However, Kerala will celebrate it on the same day as Saudi Arabia, July 31, where it is called Bali Perunnal. The festival honors the love and faith of Ibrahim and his son Ismael for Allah. The main idea is to show that they were ready to make the biggest sacrifice to prove their devotion.
Traditions and Mehndi
The festival is full of special foods, decorations, and rituals. Applying mehndi (henna) on hands is a popular tradition that has been around for years. It helps the body relax and cools the nerves, reducing stress.
Mehndi leaves also fight germs and skin infections. Many artists share beautiful mehndi designs on Instagram to inspire new patterns for Eid.
