The screen sizes being discussed are 14.3 inches and 16.3 inches, which are only a little larger than today’s official 14.2-inch and 16.2-inch MacBook Pro displays. That small change likely means thinner bezels and a cleaner front look rather than a much bigger laptop.
The display tech itself is the juicier part. Omdia’s report says Apple is expected to use oxide TFT and RGB tandem OLED panels. In simple words, that means the screen should be more efficient than older OLED setups and could help the battery last longer. It also points to Apple leaning into a newer display style instead of just swapping in a screen with the same old recipe.

A New Body and Chip
The timing also matters. If this plan stays on track, the laptop could show up in the third quarter of 2026, and September is being treated as the most likely month. The outside design may change a lot too. Apple has not made a major overhaul to the MacBook Pro look since the M1 Pro and M1 Max era in 2021, when it moved back toward a more practical shape.
