Karnataka: Man kills wife after being stuck at temple amidst coronavirus lockdown

A 42-year-old man and his wife used to have regular fights over their marriage, they finally decided to visit a priest who claims he can perform supernatural powers and further spark the bliss again.

But it did not quite end well even after going to the priest. As they were Stuck in the city as a lockdown was imposed right after they came here to the temple, the row between the couple turned horrific with the husband murdering his wife.

On March 23, the couple, 35-year-old Savithramma and R Basavaraja, from Chitradurga, and their daughter went to Anjaneya temple at Dodderi on the International Airport-Doddaballapura Road on March.

The couple through sources knew about a priest named Ranganath, could solve issues that the devotees were facing.

Finding the temple closed that day, they decided to stay on and perform the pooja the next day.

The family got stuck in the temple due to the lockdown.

They stayed on in the temple, and the priest was kind enough to supply them with ration and other basic necessities.

However, the differences between the couple got worse and they kept fighting even on the temple premises.

On Tuesday, around 7.30 pm, the clash got intensified, Basavaraja in hits of anger hit his wife with a stone in the temple compound, in front of his daughter.
