Harleen Sethi has been in the news recently for a lot of reasons. First, her relationship with actor Vicky Kaushal went kaput. And from what we hear, the actress has also been battling depression post her break-up. Harleen has had an elaborate struggle with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and this subject has caught Monga’s attention. Harleen Sethi’s life story has interested filmmaker Ajay Monga, who has written films like Corporate and Fashion for Madhur Bhandarkar.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, filmmaker Ajay Monga is directing a film inspired by actress real-life struggle. The film will be titled as Keel Muhaase, and it rolls mid-May in Mumbai.
Confirming the news to Mirror, Ajay said, “After Harleen enlightened me, I deep-dived into it. A year ago, my daughter Simran was diagnosed with it as well. It is known to affect a lot of women, many of whom go into depression and some develop suicidal tendencies. In her early days, Harleen would panic ahead of auditions, fearful of sudden pimple outbreaks. She has now come out of it beautifully.”
The actress, who was last seen in Ekta Kapoor’s web series Broken opposite Vikrant Massey, reveals that she was diagnosed with PCOS at 15. She informed the leading tabloid, “For the first six to seven years, I was fighting it superficially. I went to many doctors, but no one could figure out the problem. Mom suggested a blood test to check for hormonal issues. That’s when we discovered it was PCOS and started dealing with it properly.”
Harleen further added, “I realized PCOS is more of a lifestyle-related ailment and worked on my diet, work-outs, and mindset. I will be helping Ajay whenever he requires my guidance.”
When the writer-director was asked if he will cast Harleen as the lead actress in his film and he was concluded saying that he is currently auditioning other actresses as the role requires a younger girl. He also revealed that he’s working with Harleen on another.
