Amroha Lok Sabha Constituency, Uttar Pradesh: Current MP, Candidates, Polling Date and Election Results

Polls in Amroha parliamentary seat of Uttar Pradesh will take place on Thursday, April 18 during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019. In 2014 Bharatiya Janata Party candidate won by over 1.5 lakh votes against Samajwadi Party hope Humera Akhtar.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Amroha seat went to the Bahujan Samaj Party quota under the BSP-SP-RLD alliance. The party has fielded JD(S) leader Kunwar Danish Ali, who joined BSP earlier last month. The BJP has entrusted Tanwar to retain his seat, while the Congress has fielded Sachin Chaudhary.

In the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019, eight seats of Uttar Pradesh are set to undergo polling. The other seven constituencies from Uttar Pradesh which will vote on April 18 are Nagina, Hathras, Aligarh, Fatehpur Sikri, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Agra.

Amroha Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following five Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Amroha, Dhanaura, Garhmukteshwar, Hasanpur and Naugawan Sadat.

In the second phase of elections, 97 parliamentary constituencies across India would vote for the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Runner up name, party: Humera Akhtar, BSP

Number of voters polled in 2014: 10,95,860

Percentage of votes polled in 2014: 70.97

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the second phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
