A shocking case has been reported in Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh where a couple killed their own daughters after falling into superstitious practices. Police say the mother attacked her two daughters with dumbbells and took their lives. The accused were identified as Padmaja and Purushottam Naidu. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Alekhya and 22-year-old Sai Divya.

The case is from Madanapalli town in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. People living in the neighborhood say that despite being so educated, the principal couple became superstitious. Padmaja is an IIT gold medallist and is running an IIT coaching centre in the Madanpalli area. While Purushottam Naidu is the principal of the Government College.

Police said, “When the accused were arrested, they had no regrets on their faces for this heinous crime. When asked for the cause of murder, he said that the Kalyug is coming to an end and the golden age begins on Monday, and the two daughters will be alive with the sun rising.”

Police are investigating another angle

Police have detained the accused couple and sent the bodies of the deceased for post mortem. At the same time, the police are trying to find out if there is any third-party involvement in the case.
