As the month of April is coming, one can’t the day of pranks also called the April Fools’ Day that kicks in on the very first day of the month. When everyone tries to prank their friends, family on this day, some of them thought to prank users on social media platform Twitter.

Ahead of April Fools ’ Day, a prank went viral on Twitter in which users are changing their birthdays but the prank has gone viral to become big and for that Twitter issued a public announcement to warn users about the prank. It urged the users to not to change their birthdays as it will not unlock any new color scheme.

Twitter said in a statement, “We’ve noticed a prank trying to get people to change their Twitter birthday in their profile to unlock new color schemes. Please don’t try this. We don’t have different color schemes based on your birthday.”

As per the prank, changing the birth date to 2007 will unlock new color schemes and this has led to people changing their birth dates but in reality, Twitter has locked several accounts who have changed their birth dates as changing to 2007 will make them under 13 but to be on Twitter the user must be above the age.

People are also posting about the viral prank and urging other users to try this new color scheme. One o the post said “Since its cb season I’m going to be nice to antis. to prove my good intentions I’m going to tell you a secret if you change your twitter age to 2007 you can get a rainbow mode. Fellow army please be nice & don’t do it or the glitch will be gone, be considerate.”

Not only this, there are have been many version of this prank. While some promises a secret color, others offer a verified badge and more. For this prank, Twitter had asked users to follow a set of instruction that they have sent on their registered email after users changed their birth date.

From March 2018, Twitter is preventing users under the age of 13 as they say that the site is not directed to children.
