Basant Panchami 2022: The festival is celebrated every year on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Magha month. Goddess Saraswati is worshiped on this special day.

Importance of Basant Panchami:

On this day there is an Abujha Muhurta that means that people can complete their work at any time in the whole day without seeing the Panchang.

Why Maa Saraswati is worshiped:

According to the beliefs of Hinduism, Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, appeared from the mouth of Brahma on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha.

Therefore, Goddess Saraswati is worshiped on the day of Basant Panchami. Saraswati Maa is called the goddess of knowledge.

That is why on this day worshiping Goddess Saraswati with full rituals makes her happy and fulfills all the wishes of the devotees.

Auspicious time of Basant Panchami:

The Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Magh month will start from 03:47 am on Saturday, 5th February, which will continue till 03:46 am the next day, Sunday, 6th February.

Basant Panchami is worshiped after sunrise and before noon.

Worship Method:

Before worshiping Goddess Saraswati, after taking a bath on this day, first of all wear yellow clothes.

Install the idol or picture of the Goddess and then first of all worship the Kalash. After this worship the Navagrahas and then worship Maa Saraswati.

After this, during the worship, get them duly achaman and bath. Then offer the items of adornment to the goddess.

Offer white clothes to the Mother Goddess on the day of Basant Panchami. Also, offer prasad made of kheer or milk to Goddess Saraswati.
