With over 1,412 fresh cases of coronavirus on Sunday, the total number of infections tally in Bihar has crossed 26k mark. So far, 16,597 patients have been recovered from the virus and the active cases stands at 9,602. The recovery rate of Bihar reached 62.91%, according to the health department.
According to the order issued by Patna police headquarters, policemen who have recovered from coronavirus will donate plasma. This initiative is taken to save critical COVID-19 patients.
A central team is visiting Bihar on July 20 to assess the state’s coronavirus preparedness amid the pandemic. The visit by the three-member team led by Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal comes amid allegations of poor handling of the COVID-19 situation by the Nitish Kumar government. The state reported over 1,700 cases on Saturday.

Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) has already started the COVID-19 treatment. An isolation center of 100 beds is being developed in Rajendra surgical block. Most of the work has been done and it is expected to be started from Tuesday or Wednesday. It has about 20 beds of ICU and each bed will have an oxygen facility.
The district administration of Patna has started the facility of free COVID-19 test at 25 new centres in Patna. Earlier, corona tests were conducted in 6 to 7 government hospitals in Patna. The decision has been taken due to the ever-increasing crowd.
In a viral video being circulated on social media, a dead body of coronavirus infected patient can be seen lying in the hospital in a ward filled with other coronavirus patients and their family members. The incident took place in Patna's Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, the largest government-run facility in Bihar.
A woman was left unattended for hours outside the emergency ward in Siwan Sadar Hospital on Sunday. The matter came to light after a Twitter user posted pictures of the woman lying on the floor while it rained incessantly.
In the recent development of coronavirus vaccine, Dr Sanjay Rai, Head of Community Medicine Dept, AIIMS, New Delhi said, "By end of this year or early next year, there are chances that we will have a vaccine." He further added, "Launching of vaccine depends on its overall trial, we will have check the effectiveness of the vaccine for at least 6 months."
As the coronavirus cases are spiking up in Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that Bihar will soon become global hotspot of COVID-19, reports ANI.

Dr Kaushal Kishore Joint Secretary, Department of Health has been tested positive for coronavirus. Official sources in the department confirmed this and said that he went into home isolation immediately after being infected.

The central team of the health department arrived in Gaya district on Monday morning. The team inspected the containment zone in GB road. The team members and officers have also inspected the Anugrah Narayan MagadhMedical Hospital and inspecting various departments of the hospital.
