Chhattisgarh assembly polls which are near in the state and notification for the first phase has been already issued on Tuesday, but BJP is still puzzled over selecting potential candidates. However, Chief Minister Raman Singh has told that the names of candidates for 90 constituencies in the upcoming elections will be announced on October 19 or 20.
Raman Singh stated that “Nearly 90 candidates were discussed with all district presidents of state. MPs also gave recommendations regarding names. A panel of probable candidates has been made in every assembly, which will now be sent to the Central Election Committee in Delhi. On October 19-20, the names of all the 90 seats will be announced”.
BJP is ruling in the state since 2003 and Chief Minister Raman Singh is expected to fight from Rajanandgaon constituency. Currently, there is a triangular contest in the state among Congress, Chhattisgarh Janta Congress and BJP for the upcoming polls.
