5:00 PM| Talks between farmer unions and the government, which were earlier scheduled for December 29, will now take place on December 30 at 2 pm.


4:00 PM| Mumbai Police has set guidelines for New Year’s eve and said that no parties will be allowed on December 31 night.

Mumbai Police DCP S Chaitanya said, “Every year huge public gathering takes place in Mumbai for the celebration of New Year, however, this year it won’t be possible due to Covid-19 restrictions. First, no party is allowed at all this year in Mumbai. No party at roof tops, terrace, bars and restaurants, beaches, etc no party at all this year.”

12:15 PM| The Union Health Ministry said on Monday, “Daily recoveries outnumbered daily new cases for more than a month now. Total recoveries are nearing 98 lakh (97,82,669). The recovery rate has also increased to 95.83 per cent. The gap between recoveries and active cases is consistently widening, and has crossed 95 lakh today.”

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday, “Minimum temperatures have fallen by 1°-2° C over Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, and by 3°-5° C over Rajasthan during the past 24 hours. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded at 8:30 am today is 0.6° C over Churu, followed by Narnaul and Ludhiana having temperatures 1.6° C and 2.1° C respectively.”
