On the 118th death anniversary of Empress Victoria, Hindu Sena, a right-wing outfit, is set to organise an event at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday. In the invitation of event that is making rounds in social media Britishers have been lauded to help “India to get independence in 1857”. It can be read in the invitation that, “Britishers helped India to get independence in 1857 from foreign Islamic invaders/terrorist and it was India’s 1st independence in true sense.”

The invitation further says, “Britishers under the dynamic leadership of Empress Victoria brought hundreds of princely states under one umbrella and became one country under one law.”

The Hindu Sena earlier made news when they organized huge celebrations of President Donald Trump’s birthday.
