Moradabad: The Moradabad District Administration has sent a legal notice to the poet and Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi for alleged involvement in the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and violation of Section 144. Pratapgarhi has been fined of Rs one crore four lakh eight thousand.
The administration has sent a notice to Imran Pratapgarhi after accounting for the expenditure of Rs 13 lakh 42 thousand in the notice.
Protests have been going on in Moradabad since January 29 against the CAA. Additional Municipal Magistrate I issued notices. The demonstration is going on at Moradabad Idgah.
According to the reports, the demonstration has been described as a threat to social harmony. It has also been said that because of this a lot of money is being spent on law and order. It needs to be noted here that earlier the Uttar Pradesh government had taken major action against those who committed violence in the name of opposition to the citizenship law.
And many people had also been issued a decree to pay the damages.
Those who caused damage to property worth crores were given notice is related to the violence. If they do not make up for the loss, then their property will be recovered by confiscating their property.
It also needs to be mentioned here that Congress has nominated Imran Pratapgadi as a candidate for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Moradabad Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh.
Imran came down to try his luck in the electoral fray by becoming a leader from being a poet. He did not win the elections.
