
Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Kumar Singh said the incident occurred around midnight when the police intercepted three men on a scooter near Muskara Road following a tip-off.

Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams inspected the scene and collected evidence. Multiple teams were formed to identify and apprehend the culprits, police said.

The Additional District Judge, from the Fast Track Court, also slapped a fine of Rs 80,000 on the convicted doctor, as confirmed by Assistant District Government Counsel Subhash Chaturvedi.

Delivering the sentence, judge Anuj Kumar Sangal of the POCSO (protection of children from sexual offences) court in Champawat also imposed a fine of Rs 1.25 lakh on the convict who hails from Nepal.

Hailing from Ghaziabad, the accused possessed a diploma in medical laboratory technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Science.

According to police, the crime was planned by her husband, Rakesh Roshan, after his extramarital affair with a hospital staff member was exposed. The other accused include his younger brother Atul and three hospital employees, one of whom is a woman.

In his order on Thursday, Additional Sessions Judge from Kalyan P R Ashturkar also imposed a fine of Rs 6,000 on the 39-year-old convict, a resident of the Ambernath area.

The horrifying details of the crime emerged after police interrogation led to the discovery of the remains in the couple’s rented home in Indiranagar, Meerut.
