The application process for ‘Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students’ has started on the ‘National Scholarship Portal’, a website under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. The scholarship falls under the purview of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
The last date to apply for the Scholarships for the Academic Session 2019-20 is October 31, 2019. The official web portal for the scholarship is scholarships.gov.in
A notice issued by the Central government said all students who had applied on National Scholarship Portal and received or yet to receive the scholarship or waiting for renewal and students who are in the Top 20th percentile of the respective Boards and who wish to apply for 2019 scholarships are advised to apply on the National Scholarship Portal for fresh and respective renewal scholarship on or before October 31 2019.
Students applying for the scholarships should go through the guidelines of the Scheme uploaded on the National Scholarship Portal.
The registration form is required to be filled by parents/guardian of the students in case the latter are below the age of 18 years on the date of registration.
