Meta’s “Threads” is a new social platform that is intricately connected to Instagram. Similar to Twitter, Threads offers a microblogging platform where you can engage in public conversations with others who share your interests. Here, you can partake in ongoing discussions, share your perspectives, and add captivating images and videos to conversations.

Threads’ adaptability is one of its distinguishing features. It permits you to modify your profile and settings to better suit your preferences, from enhancing user interactions to bolstering privacy protections. How to change Threads notification settings

Notifications can assist you in managing your use of Threads. You can choose when you desire to receive notifications, allowing you to better manage your time on the platform. Here is how to manage your Threads notification settings.

Tap the application icon to launch Threads on your device.

Now tap the profile icon in the lower-right corner of the display.

Tap the menu icon in the upper right.

Now tap Notifications to administer and customise your notifications.

You can pause all notifications by selecting the toggle at the top of the screen.

Now select Threads and replies to administer notifications for thread updates and replies.

You now have the option to tailor which notifications you receive based on the sender. This is under your control for Likes, Replies, Mentions, Reposts, Quotes, and Initial threads. Tap and select the appropriate option based on your preferences.

  • From individuals you follow Off

Select Back in the upper-left corner.

Tap Following and followers next.

You can now manage the following products’ notifications. Tap and choose On or Off based on whether you wish to receive notifications for the respective item.

  • Follower demands
  • Accepted request to monitor
  • Account recommendations

Tap Back twice in the upper-left corner to return to Settings.

How to modify your Threads privacy settings

You can use privacy settings to manage who can mention you on Threads, muted users, concealed words, profiles you follow, and much more. These parameters allow you to customise your platform experience and interactions. If you are concerned about your privacy, you should modify and regulate your privacy settings according to your preferences. Follow the instructions below to manage and modify your Threads privacy settings.

Tap the application icon to launch Threads on your device.

Now tap the profile icon in the lower-right corner of the display.

Tap the menu icon in the upper right.

Now select Privacy to configure your privacy settings.

Use the Private profile toggle at the top to manage the public visibility of your profile.

To control who can mention you in conversations, tap Mentions.

Tap and select the appropriate option based on your preferences.

Follow the profiles of everyone

Now, navigate back and tap Mute. This feature will enable you to manage muted users.

If you wish to unmute them, tap Unmute.

Now press Back.

Tap Hidden Words to manage your account’s hidden words.

Choose On or Off for the subsequent options based on your preferences.

Additionally, you can add and manage custom words and phrases to be blocked by this feature. To do the same, tap Manage custom words and phrases.

In the text box at the top, you can now enter the phrases or terms you want to block.

Tap Add when you are finished.

Tap Tap to view your list of previously added words and phrases.

To amend an added word or phrase, tap it.

To remove a word or phrase, tap the X next to it.

Additionally, you can drag left on an added word to delete it.

Tap Delete to perform the same action.

Additionally, you can export your list of prohibited words and phrases. To do the same, tap the Share icon in the upper right quadrant.

You can now select your preferred exporting app from the share pane.

Once completed, return to the Privacy settings page. Tap Followed profiles to manage who you are following.

You can now view a roster of those you are currently following. To unfollow a profile, tap Unfollow next to its name.

You can also use the search tab at the top to find a specific person.

To manage your followers, select Followers at the top of your screen.

Use the search bar at the top to locate a specific person, as before.

To remove a follower, tap Remove next to their name.

Swipe downwards to close the settings page when you’re finished.

Other account privacy preferences are shared with Instagram. This includes limiting, blocking, and concealing likes, among other measures. If Instagram is installed, tapping the following options will take you to the Instagram settings page.

Select Back to return to the Settings page.

How to modify your Threads account settings

Account settings allow you to administer your Threads account. You can configure take a break to remind you to take a break at regular intervals if you’ve been perusing Threads for too long. Additionally, if you find Threads to be unproductive, you have the option to deactivate your profile. Here is how to modify and administer your Threads account settings. Tap the Threads icon to launch the app on your device.

Tap the profile icon located in the lower-right corner of the display.

Tap the menu icon located in the upper-right quadrant.

To manage your account settings, tap Account.

Tap If you desire to take a break from Threads, please take a break.

You will now be prompted to indicate when you would like to be reminded to take a break. Tap and select the appropriate option based on your preferences.

On the same settings page, you can also deactivate your account. This will deactivate your profile, rendering it invisible until you choose to activate it again. Tap the corresponding button to deactivate your profile.

Other configurations on this page are identical for Instagram and Threads. If Instagram is installed, you can select these to manage them in Instagram. You may select one of the following alternatives.
