The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday said if there was prima facie proof of unlawful activity against BJP chief, Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah, then the allegations must be probed.

However, the right-wing organisation also emphasized that the responsibility was on people who were making the allegations to establish their claims.

Jay Shah had filed a defamation case against news portal, The Wire, its editor, and its reporter for an article that pointed out that the revenues of his business had grown massively the year after PM Modi came to power.

The article in The Wire had reported that the profit of Shah’s business grown from Rs 50,000 in 2014-’15 to Rs 80.5 crore in 2015-’16. It also reported a number of loans received by companies.

“If there are corruption allegations against anyone, they should be investigated,” the organisation’s joint general secretary, Dattatreya Hosabale said. “It is for those who have made the accusation to prove the charge.”
