Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday escaped unhurt when the SUV in which he was travelling rammed into an escort vehicle near PAP chowk on Jalandhar-Amritsar road.

A biker had apparently come in front of the convoy suddenly, which led to a pile-up.

The Toyota Innova in which Kejriwal was riding hit the police car leading the convoy. Kejriwal, who was wearing a seat belt, was unhurt. Others in the car, Aam Aadmi Party leaders Bhagwant Mann and HS Phoolka were also unhurt.

The Punjab police has increased its contingent around the Delhi Chief Minister after he was heckled on his arrival on Thursday at the Ludhiana Railway Station.

On Friday, the convoy had approximately 20 cars.

Kejriwal, who is in Punjab for three days, will visit the Golden Temple on Friday.
