College Students Employ Cow Urine for ‘Purification’ of Campus: In an effort to “purify” their campus, MV College students in Shivamogga, Karnataka, resorted to scattering gau mutra (cow urine) throughout the area. Their action was in response to actor Prakash Raj’s Tuesday appearance at the institution for an event. Prior to the visit, the Prakash Raj event was widely publicised on social media.

The protestors’ primary complaint was that the event planners had neglected to include the student body in their preparations. Local law enforcement was summoned in to maintain order during the event, and barricades were erected outside the college to prevent demonstrators from entering. Unfortunately, these precautionary measures precipitated a conflict between police and protesting students.

Prakash Raj is not unfamiliar with such contentious situations. In a previous incident from January 2018, members of the BJP Yuva Morcha had taken similar measures to “purify” the Raghvendra Muth auditorium in Sirsi Town, Karnataka, following his participation in an event titled “Our Constitution, Our Pride,” at which he was a featured speaker.

In the recent scenario, Prakash Raj was invited to a private event on the college campus to engage in a conversation about theatre, film, and society. However, word of this invitation reached the student population, resulting in an impromptu demonstration against the event.

According to the Shivamogga Police Superintendent, the protestors included both college students and outsiders. The identities of these external participants are currently unknown.

Prakash Raj, a prominent figure in Tamil film, has branched out to Hindi and Telugu films. In 2009, his outstanding performance in the film “Kanchivaram” garnered him the National Film Award for Best Actor.

The actor has always been vocal about social and political issues on his social media accounts.
