Coronavirus cases in India live updates: The number of coronavirus cases in India has taken a spike and has reached to 33,610 according to the ministry of health, while the number of fatalities rose to 1,075. Meanwhile, more than 3.13 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally.
Centre divided districts in the country into ‘red’, ‘orange’ and ‘green’ zones as per the doubling rate and number of cases. At least 130 districts are in the red zone, 284 in orange and 319 in green. Metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad are in the red zone. The government said it could be possible to relax restrictions in red and orange zones.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in India rose to 33,050 on Thursday. The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients also climbed to 25.19 percent with as many as 8,324 recoveries to date. At the same time, the fatality rate currently stands at 3.2 percent, however, the same is 51 percent among patients above 60 years of age. A total of 1,744 new cases and 630 fresh recoveries have been reported from across the country in the last 24 hours.

The government has ordered 2.2 crore personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, of which 1.42 will be procured through domestic manufacturers, and 1.87 from abroad. The demand for PPE kits has been projected at 2.01 crore in India, PD Vaghela says during the Health Ministry briefing.

A government doctor, who fled from a quarantine centre in Mathura district, was chased by the cops and brought back. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the policemen are seen calling out to the medical practitioner, who was put under quarantine after came in contact with a person had tested positive for Covid-19.
Another train is expected to leave from Aluva in Kerala to Bhubaneswar in Odisha today while some are expected to leave from Kozhikode and Trivandrum tomorrow. An official order from the railways is yet to arrive. The state plans to bring back the stranded migrants only after screening them. Around 1,000 migrants are expected to board the train today.
Covid-19 in Rajasthan: Rajasthan recorded three more coronavirus deaths on Friday, while 33 fresh cases of the virus were reported, an official said. Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Rohit Kumar Singh said while two people died in Jaipur, one died in Nagaur. The death toll due to the virus in the state has climbed to 61.
Twelve Tablighi Jamaat members, including nine from Thailand, were sent to a temporary jail in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district after they completed their quarantine, police said on Friday. According to PTI, the 12 people, including nine from Thailand and two from Tamil Nadu, were held on April 2 from a mosque"
"The Delhi government is sending 40 buses today (Friday) to Kota (Rajasthan) to bring back our students. We are in touch with state governments on the movement of migrant workers. Students returning from Kota (Rajasthan) will have to go into self-quarantine for 14 days," said Kejriwal.
