COVID-19 outbreak: Hospital staff stage hunger strike in quarantine center in Agra

In Agra, the patience of staff of Paras Hospital at Maharaja Agarsen Sewa Sadan, Kamla Nagar, broke down on Tuesday. The hospital staff started the hunger strike. They said they would stage protest without having food and water.

The hospital staff alleged that there is no investigation and not being allowed to go home. The chief medical officer and the DM as well as the administrative officers are unnecessarily harassing these young unemployed employees. The colleagues who came positive have been sent home from other centres.

The Paras hospital employees at the quarantine centre are telling themselves health servants. They say that those ‘who have spread the corona have gone home, we are not a fault, yet there are so many days in quarantine. We are not even ICT employees, yet we are being punished like culprits.”

Earlier, 41 people sat on Dharna on Monday at the quarantine centre built at the front of the water works in Agra. They allege that even after 16 days of quarantine, our corona was not investigated.

On its information, ACM II VK Gupta arrived with a team of doctors. He said the doctor will decide when the investigation will take place. He was told that the quarantine is being kept for 28 days.
