Days after the Gujarat election results were announced, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA joined the BJP.
AAP MLA Bhupat Bhayani was elected to the assembly from Junagadh district’s Visavadar.
Surprisingly, three of the five AAP MLAs previously belonged to the saffron party. They defected from the BJP and joined the AAP after being denied poll tickets by the saffron unit.
Bhupat Bhayani, one of the Aam Aadmi Party’s five successful candidates, has announced his intention to resign from the AAP and formally join the BJP. He is scheduled to speak at a press conference later in the day.
