Uttar Pradesh: Kanpur Dehat district police have arrested a police home guard who allegedly raped a 35-year-old deaf & mute woman on January 29. Woman’s family members have registered a complaint against the accused on Monday after which the case came into fore.
The woman’s brother told in the complaint that the accused barged into the verandah of their house, where her sister was sleeping and allegedly raped her. Not only this, accused Sharif a police home guard assaulted and threatened the 13-year-old son of the woman when he ran to her rescue.
Police officials told that after gaining conscious the women narrated the incidents to her relatives and family members through sign language. The police have registered an FIR against the accused under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The accused police home guard has been arrested by the police and the woman has been sent for medical examination.
This is not a first time such type of case has come to limelight, A similar incident had come to light from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh last year where a 25-year-old deaf and mute girl was raped in a shelter home run by an NGO and the authorities were also accused of forcing the girl to abort the child.
