Delhi: 20-year-old kills stepfather for harassing his minor sister, surrenders self

In an appalling case reported from the national capital, a youth stabs his stepfather to death for allegedly harassing his minor sister. The incident happened in Delhi’s Baba Haridas Nagar on Wednesday.

As per the reports, the accused himself called the police claiming that he killed his father. The deputy commissioner of police in charge in the case said that the deceased was not the father of the suspect. Also the deceased married the suspect’s mother in 2012, a year after she lost her husband.

According to a report by a national daily, the couple lived separately, the woman lived with her children from dead husband and the victim would visit them from time to time. The couple also had a seven-year-old son.

The police said that from a few days, the accused was suspecting that his stepfather was eyeing on his minor sister. When he visited the house on Wednesday, he confronted him but eventually the confrontation turned heated and the in the rage of the argument, the man picked a knife and attacked the victim.

The accused’s mother was in the house when the crime happened and his 15-year old sister was out of Delhi.  Police also added that after committing the crime, he pulled his phone out and said that he had killed his father and is waiting for the police to come and arrest him.

The accused ran a small shop near the house. Although the police have registered a case and the investigation into the matter is underway.
