Delhi Airport Terminal 2 Reopen: After months of renovation, Delhi Airport’s Terminal 2 is finally ready to welcome passengers from Sunday, October 26. The terminal was closed in April for major upgrade work. The GMR Group, which manages the airport, said the new Terminal 2 comes with advanced features like Self-baggage drop facilities and passenger boarding bridges to give travelers a smooth and easy experience.

Flights and Operations at Terminal 2

The upgraded terminal will handle 120 domestic flights every day starting the night of October 25-26, 2025. Airport authorities confirmed that all Indigo and Air India flights will now operate from Terminal 2. This will make travel more convenient for thousands of passengers flying in and out of Delhi every day.

Self-Baggage Drop Facility

A great new highligh thing in the renovated terminal is the Self-baggage Drop (SBD). Passengers can check their bags themselves, save time, and move faster without waiting in long lines.

  • Step 1: Passengers will have to scan their boarding pass.
  • Step 2: They have to get their luggage tagged at the boarding counter.
  • Step 3: Passengers need to drop their luggage (if under the prescribed weight of the airlines), thereby finishing the process within minutes.

Passenger Boarding Bridges

The terminal also features modern passenger boarding bridges with autonomous docking technology, a first in India. “DIAL has procured six state-of-the-art Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs) from South Korea, incorporating a range of advanced features designed to enhance passenger convenience, safety, and overall experience. These include elevated ramps to assist wheelchair passengers and optimally adjusted cabins for seamless boarding,” airport authorities said.

The PBBs also come with side-covering cushions for better safety and appearance, along with swing doors that protect the operators and add to a modern design.
