Delhi: Blind music teacher, wife stabbed to death in Dwarka; Police rules out robbery

A 52-year-old blind teacher and is wife were fund murdered at their residence in Dwarka’s Bhagwati Garden area on Saturday evening. The police are suspecting personal enmity or a financial issue to be the reason behind the incident. The deceased had several injury marks on their bodies.

Deputy Commissioner of police (Dwarka), Anto Alphonse, said they had received a call about a couple being murdered around 7pm. The DCP said when a team from Mohan Garden police station arrived at the spot they identified the man as Hari Valab Singh and his wife as Shanti Singh.

The duo had multiple stab injuries on their necks and stomachs. It looks like they were attacked with a knife.

Police say that Hari Ballabh used to work as a music teacher with a private school in Kanjhawala while his wife is a home-maker. They couple had a 22-year-old son and a 27-year-old daughter. Their children stay elsewhere in Dwarka.

Officials further said, “We are trying to collect fingerprints and CCTV footage are being checked to identify people who had last visited the couple. We are also questioning neighbours and family members in order to zero down on suspects.”

Meanwhile, cops have sent the bodies for autopsy at a govt hospital and have informed their family members about the incident. Police registered a case of murder and have launched a search operation for the suspect.
