Delhi: Congress leader Nadeem Javed allegedly beaten outside Islamic Centre

Congress minority cell chief Nadeem Javed said he was allegedly attacked by unidentified persons here on Tuesday.

Speaking with Newsd he said, “I was being followed by some unknown people at India Islamic cultural centre. I was having lunch with my friends and when I came out these unknown people attacked me and almost tried to lynch me.”

He narrowly escaped the attack and is safe now. In such a broad daylight in the national capital, it is really shocking to witness such lawlessness. He has lodged an FIR with Tughlak Road police station, in New Delhi.

The incident took place at around 02:00 pm on Tuesday. He was accompanied by his colleague Sandeep Kataria who helped him to rescue out of the spot. The passerby also came around to extend their help in his rescue.

He also alleged that these attackers were in possession in firearms and by the grace of Almighty and the blessings of my well wishers I managed to escape and rushed towards the nearest police station.

However, he could not read the vehicle number as the attackers pulled him aside and everything happened in a such a short span of time that I could hardly notice it.

Javed tweeted about the incident immediately followed by an FIR.
