Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on a video conference held today, said that the national capital Delhi can’t have a permanent lockdown, though Delhi has seen a huge jump in the number of new patients.

He said that the steep surge in infections was a matter of concern but it assured there was nothing to be scared of.

In the video conference, CM Kejriwal said that “We agree that the city has seen a huge spike in the number of coronavirus cases. But we should not panic. The situation in Delhi would be worrying for me in two scenarios – if the number of deaths increase and if there’s a shortage of hospital beds.”

He further added to it that “A permanent lockdown is no solution.

Life has to carry on with all the precautions,” stressing that the national capital “is four steps ahead of coronavirus”.

The Delhi CM said that in 15 days, cases went up by 8,500 but only 500 people were admitted in hospitals. “Most people are getting cured at home,” he said.

The 51-year-old AAP chief has repeatedly said that the people in the national capital will have to learn to live with the pandemic that has affected more than 17,000 in the city-state as restrictions are gradually eased.
