Reportedly, a Delhi police personnel jumped in front of a train and committed suicide at Jahangirpuri metro station today. The deceased cop has been identified as assistant sup inspector Ajay Kumar. An investigation on the matter has been underway. The reason for the suicide is still unknown and a probe is being conducted to find out all the details.
Although this is not the first time that someone has committed suicide by jumping in front of a metro train in Delhi. Also, it is fourth such incident that is being reported in less than a month in the capital. DMRC is taking measures by the installation of an automatic coach entry doors at certain platform across the network.
Such incidents not only disturb the metro operations for the commuters but also put their life at risk.

Earlier on March 8, a man jumped in front of the train in GTB Nagar metro station. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was undergoing treatment, as per the latest reports. A similar incident happened on March 22 when a woman jumped in front of an approaching metro train at Noida Sector 16 metro station.
Another incident that is quite different from the rest occurred on March 12 when a 26-year-old woman jumped on the metro tracks at Dwarka Mor metro station allegedly to pick up a Rs 2,000 note she saw lying on the tracks. The woman made a miraculous escape by lying still between the tracks as the train went over her.
