DMRC Travel App: In light of the fact that the G-20 Summit is being held in the nation’s capital, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has advised passengers to use the ‘DMRC Travel’ app for immediate booking of QR tickets for Metro travel. The shift is intended to eliminate the need to visit ticket counters and wait in queue, saving a great deal of time.
Tomorrow, the two-day Summit will commence at Bharat Mandapam close to Pragati Maidan. Supreme Court station is the closest station to the venue. The station will be closed for two consecutive days, the 9th and 10th of September, 2023.

What is the DMRC Travel App?
The Delhi Metro has launched a dedicated mobile app for its passengers called ‘DMRC Travel’ to provide more convenient and hassle-free mobile QR ticketing for travelling across its corridor. It was introduced on June 30, 2023 by Dr. Vikas Kumar, the DMRC’s managing director.
This new mobile application allows passengers to purchase tickets from their devices. This new mode will eradicate the need to visit ticket counters or vending machines and to wait in lines.
The following payment mechanisms are supported by the ‘DMRC Travel’ app:-
The app for the Delhi Metro supports numerous payment methods, including UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card, and Wallets. Users can select their preferred payment method and conclude the transaction in a single second.
This mobile application includes a travel planner, station information, smart card recharge, and fare calculator, among other features. The commuter can also access information regarding the route, from origin to destination, including transfer stations. The commuter can also examine transaction history, rebook tickets for the same origin-destination and return journey.
How to purchase mobile QR ticket through DMRC Travel app
Here is a step-by-step guide of how you can purchase a Delhi Metro ticket using the new DMRC Travel app”
Step 1: Search the DMRC Travel app on Google Play and the download and install app on your smartphone.
Step 2: Next, open the app and create an account using your Gmail or Facebook credentials.
Step 3: Log in to the app and select Book Ticket option from the menu bar.
Step 4: Now enter source and destination stations and click on the Book Ticket option. Once you do so, it will show Price, number of stops and journey time for the selected source and destination stations.
Step 5: Next, select the Number of Tickets and then tap the Proceed to Booking option.
Step 6: After that, confirm your purchase details including, which includes source and destination stations, number of tickets, and the total amount.
Step 7: Now make payment using your preferred payment method.
Once the payment is successful, the app will generate a mobile QR ticket, which the commuters can present at the Automatic Fare Collection gate for entry and exit during their journey.
