FASHION COLLOQUIA 2020 to India

New Delhi, Jan 27 (IANSlife) ARCH College of Design & Business unveiled the 3rd series of Fashion Colloquia2020 – an International Research Colloquium, at a press conference at ARCH College, Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The third series focuses on recognizing the importance of a ‘Responsible’ future and celebrates the 150th Year of “Father of the Nation” Mahatma Gandhi and his contribution to Khadi.

The series originated through a core network of 4 institutions, viz. the London College of Fashion – University of the Arts, London, Domus Academy – Milan, Institute Francais de la Mode – Paris, and Parsons, The New School for Design, School of Fashion, New York and will take place on the sidelines of the Jaipur Literature festival with a two-day (26th and 27th) pre-colloquium in association JLF.

The theme of the FASHION COLLOQUIA 2020 is “Heritage… Stories of Change… Our Shared Future”. The press conference was presided by Prof. Ian King, London College of Fashion, University of Arts London (he initiated Fashion Colloquia) and Ms. Archana Surana, Chairperson of Fashion Jaipur colloquia and Founder & Director, ARCH College of Design. It is expected to have over 20 speakers, 50 research and more than a 1000 attendees, over 5 days. The Fashion and Design fraternity from National and International universities, academic institutions, as well as industry, will participate in the colloquium.

26th January: KHADI FASHION SHOW

Opening show at against the backdrop of the historic Ganesh Pol at Amer Fort (6:30 pm)

27th January

Session on: “Textile Heritage: Stories of Change and Shared Futures” at JLF. 3:45-4:45 pm at Mughal Tent, Hotel Diggi Palace. In conversation with Ms. Archana Surana will be Prof. Ian King, Prof. of Aesthetics & Management, Research Initiatives London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, England; Prof. Annick Schrame, Former President, European Network on Cultural Management & Policy (ENCATC) and himanshuWardhan, Managing Director, Etsy.

Colloquium at ARCH College of Design & Business

28th January

Inauguration Ceremony at 10:00 am will be followed by a Panel Discussion on Fashion Governance in a Local Context followed by Research Paper Presentations & Workshops

In the evening from 4:00 pm onwards, Keynote Sessions by Sanjay Garg, Raw Mango, and Uma Prajapati, Upasana would be followed by a Fashion Show showcasing the creation of the ARCH students towards a ‘Responsible’ Future signifying ‘Khadi’ as a new-age fashion fabric. The collection is a celebration of 150 years of Gandhi and recognition to his contribution towards ‘Khadi’ as a symbol of sustainable & conscious living.

29th January

Research Paper Presentations, Workshops for New Researchers and Startups

Glamour to Glory- Myth to Meaning conversation with Ruma Devi, Artisan & Social Activist; Uma Prajapti, Founder, Upasana & Sonalika Sahay, Supermodel.

Panel Discussion on the theme, “Heritage, Stories of Change, Our shared Future” would be in the evening followed by the closing ceremony.

30th January

Field trips and industry visits for our speakers to places like Sanganer, Gyan Museum, Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF), City Palace Museum, Anokhi, BagruTexcraft Park, etc.
