How to do Ganesha Puja

Ganesh Puja is preferred during mid-day as it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhyahna Kala. Shodashopachara Ganapati Puja is performed by the devotes by chanting of Puranik Mantras.

Deep-Prajawalan (Diya lightning) and Sankalpa are done before starting the puja and a 16-step Shodashopachara Puja is then performed. It involves mantra chanting, idol installation, bathing the idol and several offerings to the deity.
