GHMC Election Results 2020 LIVE: The counting for the Hyderabad civic body polls has begun. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls reported an unimpressive 46.55 percent voter turnout on Tuesday. Arrangements have been made for the counting that will take place at 30 places with the help of over 8,000 personnel.

The entire counting process would be recorded with CCTV cameras installed at every counting table. Ballot papers were used for the poll and consequently, the results are likely to be known only in the evening or in the night. The Telangana State Election Commission had decided to conduct the election with ballot papers after obtaining the views of major political parties, the health department in view of COVID-19 and taking into consideration various relevant issues, the SEC said earlier.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha said, “we are expecting to win over 100 seats. Although many big leaders from BJP came to campaign and made many false claims, I’m happy that people of Hyderabad did not believe in them & reposed their faith in KCR’s leadership.”
According to a report, Of 12 divisions, BJP has established a lead in nine so far. Meanwhile, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is ahead in three divisions.

As per early trends, the BJP has taken the lead in 51 of the 150 seats in GHMC elections. The ruling TRS is up in 20 seats, while Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM leads in eight, and the Congress in three.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said that three-level security arrangements are in place at all the counting centers with the deployment of CRPF, city armed reserve police, and city civil police personnel.
According to initial trends at 9.30 am, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ahead in 40 seats while the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in 14 seats. Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM is leading in six.
