Bomb blast in Guwahati

Assam: In a shocking incident, a bomb blast happened in the busy Panbazar area behind the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital in Guwahati on Saturday afternoon at around 11:55 am.

Preliminary reports said the explosion damaged a boundary wall along the Brahmaputra riverside and debris was scattered on the adjoining pavement and main road.

As reported, four people were injured severely and shifted to the MMC hospital for treatment.

Speaking to G Plus, a police official said, “We are yet to confirm the reason. There was an explosion which led to the collapse of the guard wall by the riverside. People have been injured. But right now we have no evidence to confirm if it was actually a bomb blast.”

More information awaited.
