Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has turned 28 today. Alia, who put her footsteps in the film industry at 18, has now come a long way in her career. Her acting expertise has stun fans and critics multiple times.

The ‘Highway’ actor started her career in 2012 from Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’.  Since then, the actor has worked in some critically acclaimed films like Highway, Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi, Raazi, Gully Boy and the list goes on and on.

From romance to comedy to patriotic films, Bhatt has been a part of a diversity of film genres. Some films had really powerful dialogues that became popular amongst the fans.

Recently, the teaser of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was dropped. The film is helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Alia’s character as ‘Gangubai’ has took everyone’s breath away and fans went gaga over her character.

Alia will now feature as Sita in SS Rajamaouli’s RRR movie. The makers are all set to release her look on the occasion of her birthday.

On the occasion of Alia’s birthday, here are blockbuster movies by the ‘Raazi’ actor:

Highway:

Director Imtiaz Ali’s 2014 film ‘Highway’ proved to be a turning point in Alia Bhatt’s career. The critics as well as the audience started taking her more seriously as an actor with her incredible performance in this Indian road drama film. The plot of the movie revolves around a girl who gets kidnapped and it tells the story as to why she discovers freedom post her abduction. ‘Highway’ also stars Randeep Hooda in a significant role.

2 States:

‘2 States’ was released in April 2014. Alia’s chemistry with Arjun Kapoor and her performance as Ananya earned her a lot of praise from audiences globally. This also had an impact on her next film in the same year which was ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ with Varun Dhawan.

Udta Punjab:

In this movie, Alia played a character of a Bihari migrant girl who aims to be a hockey player. Sadly, she gets into trouble over a packet of medicine. ‘Udta Punjab’ is based on drug abuse by the youth inhabitants of our nation. The movie also stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles.

Raazi:

With Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi’, Alia Bhatt was carrying an entire film on her shoulder for the first time. And the actress did not fail to impress with her powerful portrayal of an Indian spy. The protagonist of the story, Sehmat, portrayed by Alia, sets off to Pakistan after getting married to serve the nation as an undercover agent. ‘Raazi’ released in the year 2018 and it also stars Vicky Kaushal in a titular role.

Gully Boy:

Gully Boy was a  bit of a departure from Alia’s previous films as it saw her essay as an aggressive character as opposed to a coy one. The actor rose to the occasion, hitting it out of the park with her intense performance. The Ranveer Singh-starrer was chosen as India’s entry to the Academy Awards but failed to earn a nomination.
