In a strange incident reported from Haryana’s Sailana village, a BJP supporter on Monday allegedly shot at his cousin brother as he voted for Congress in the Lok Sabha polls.

According to residents at Jhajjar, a clash between Congress and BJP supporters broke out on Monday, a day after voting in the sixth round of the Lok Sabha election was held. They said the accused, Dharmender, a BJP supporter, shot at his cousin brother Raja because he voted for the Congress. Raja’s mother was also injured.

Silani is a former member of the Bahadurgarh civic body and an office-bearer of BJP’s mandal unit. He had asked his cousin Singh and his family to vote for the BJP. Singh, however, decided to vote for the Congress candidate.

This led to Silani having a confrontation with Singh on Sunday night following which Silani went to the Singh’s home the next day with a .315 bore gun and shot at him.

As soon as the police received the information about the incident, they reached the sport however Silani has run away by the. The injured Raja Singh was rushed to a hospital and is underway medical treatment. As per the reports, he is stable now.

Meanwhile, a police case was booked against accused Silani under charges of attempted murder and the Arms Act. The probe is on to nab Silani soon.
