Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala on Saturday filed a defamation case against Health Minister Anil Vij for making ‘drug addict’ remarks against him, in a local court. The court fixed hearing in the case on August 14.
Vij, while interacting with media persons on April 3, had said that he (Dushyant) seemed to have started taking drugs and he should be sent to a rehabilitation centre. He said this while reacting to the allegation of anomalies in the Health Department made by Dushyant.
The INLD MP said that Vij has defamed him, “my entire family and the area of Sirsa and Hisar” by levelling baseless and malicious allegations. He has served a legal notice on the minister demanding an unconditional public apology.
On March 18, Dushyant had raised the issue of corruption in the Health Department with regard to irregularities in purchase of medicines. He had demanded an independent inquiry into purchase deals and also action against the erring officials.
