The World Test Championship comprises nine teams competing in 71 Test matches in 27 series across two years. The teams currently in the WTC fray are India, Australia, New Zealand, England, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Bangladesh.
Like every series, this India vs England also carries 120 points or 30 points per match as it is a 4-match series. A tied Test match would give half the total points while a drawn game would give one-third of the total points.
India vs England: Last series before WTC Final
This series is important also because it is the last series before the scheduled final which is to be played on 18th June 2021.
Currently, only 4 teams are in the race for final spots which are India, England, Australia, and New Zealand.
India is on top of the standings with 71.7% PTC (points earned/points available) and 430 points, while England is fourth with 68.7% PTC and 412 points.
If England fails to win the Test series in India, then the final will happen between India and New Zealand according to the current standings.
