In a shocking incident, a house that was witnessing wedding festivities was left appalled after a tragedy gripped in. A sub-inspector in Thiruvananthapuram collapsed midway while singing on stage at his daughter’s wedding.
The 55-year-old was rushed to the hospital immediately but he couldn’t be saved. The cop passed away around 9:30 pm on Saturday in Neendakara in Kollam district.
The cop named Vishnuprasad was singing ‘Raakili Ponmagale’ a song which is sung by a father for his daughter in the Mammootty starrer Amaram.
The father of the bride was tapping his foot and singing the song when suddenly he collapsed. As per the police, Vishunuprasad was declared dead upon arrival.
However, the family members of the cop decided not to tell the daughter and go ahead with the wedding on Sunday as his dad had planned and so would had wanted her to marry.
On Sunday morning, the bride was getting ready and was enquiring about her father who was nowhere to be seen. The family members told her that he would be with her soon.
The bride got married to Vishnuprasad who shares the same name as her father. The duo got married at Duragadevi temple in Kollam. She bid farewell to her family to go to her husband’s place. Even by then, the family did not inform her about her father.
It was on Monday, the day of her father’s funeral the family broke the news of her father’s death. The cremation ceremony of the cop will be held on Monday evening.
The cop was a sub-inspector and reportedly had only one more year of service remaining. He is survived by wife Sushma and Children Archa, Anuprasad and Aryaprasad.
The chief minister of Kerala condoled the death of the cop.
