Kerala: Neyyattinkara murder accuse duped cops before committing suicide

Kerala: Neyyattinkara murder accuse duped cops before committing suicide

The Kerala police got duped by the prime accuse of the Neyyattinkara murder case, DySP Harikumar.

The police tracked DySP’ location using his mobile phone to a tower near his house at Kallambalam. The accused did not surrender as promised and kept himself hidden, before killing himself at his home.

Harikumar travelled to Kanyakumari district, Madurai, Coimbatore, Mysuru and Mangaluru over the course of 9 days.

Earlier, the police registered a murder case against B Harikumar, under section 302(Punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Section 302 of IPC states says, “Whoever commits murder shall be punished with death, or 1[imprisonment for life], and shall also be liable to fine.”

Kerala: DySP B Harikumar, prime suspect of the Neyyattinkara murder case found dead

The deceased, Sanal Kumar was an electrician from the Kodungavila region. The incident took place at around 9:45 PM on Monday when B Harikumar was visiting his friend Binu. While leaving, he found his vehicle’s path blocked by the Kumar’s car. Reportedly, B Harikumar then assaulted Sanal and threw him on the nearby road when a passing vehicle hit him. Sanal was taken to the Medical College Hospital where he died at around 11 PM.

Neyyattinkara murder case: Prime witness receives death threats

A prime witness, Mahim, had told the police that his family was receiving death threats. Reportedly, the ambulance carrying Sanal took longer to reach the hospital as one of the accompanying cops wasn’t feeling well and had asked to be dropped off at the police station.
