Clothing, purses, napkins, bedding, and even combs were among these. He progressed from tents to trousers thereafter. Jacob W. Davis, a client of Strauss, engaged in a commercial partnership with the company to manufacture blue jeans. This allowed Strauss to claim the patent for riveted denim pants in 1871, which he subsequently patented in 1873.
Nevertheless, how did Davis enter the picture? Davis, an accomplished tailor, conceived the design in response to a woman’s plea for durable working trousers for her woodcutter spouse. The pants were fabricated from denim procured from the Levi Strauss shop, with the stitching reinforced with copper rivets. The demand for this fashionable new garment escalated to the extent that Davis was unable to meet it due to capacity constraints; therefore, he was compelled to patent his design. Strauss contributed monetarily; he assisted Davis in patenting the jeans and issuing the license, which ultimately led to their becoming prosperous business associates.
