Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Agra Constituency Elections Dates, Schedule and Results

The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will be among the most stretched out as it will be held in seven phases as announced by the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on Sunday.

The Election Commission of India announced that the general elections will began on April 11, with the last phase taking place on May 19, the results is slated to be announced on May 23.

Uttar Pradesh has a total of 80 seats and is the state which sends most number of MPs to the Lok Sabha.

The elections in the Agra constituency will take place in the second phase of the General Elections 2019 which will take place on April 18. The elections in the Agra constituency will take place along with 7 other constituencies, namely, Nagina, Amroha, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura, Fatehpur Sikhri.

Congress last won an election here way back in 1984, when Nihal Singh won for the second consecutive time. In the last two elections Ram Shankar Katheria of BJP has won the seat. President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, Raj Babbar has won from this constituency on two occasions during his days with the Samajwadi Party.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party had sealed a remarkable 71 seats out of 80 with then ruling party in the state Samajwadi Party getting just 5 seats. After the coming together of Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party, a tough contest expected in India’s most populous state.
