LPG New Rules June 2026:From June 1, 2026, India’s LPG users may start seeing big shifts in how they book cylinders, handle refills and what they actually pay for gas. Recent reports say oil marketing companies, like Indane Gas, Bharat Gas and HP Gas are getting ready for major updates. They’re pointing to global energy pressure and a steady rise in domestic demand.
The possible changes come at a time when LPG prices, commercial cylinder rates and supply chain concerns are already affecting households and businesses across the country. Consumers are now closely watching whether domestic LPG cylinder prices will increase again next month.
LPG New Rules June 2026
One of the biggest expected changes is related to the LPG refill booking waiting period. According to recent reports, the minimum gap between two LPG refill bookings may be increased from 21 days to 25 days. The move is reportedly aimed at preventing hoarding, black marketing and unnecessary stockpiling during supply pressure situations.
If implemented officially, customers using Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas will have to wait longer before booking another domestic cylinder refill.
New Eligibility Rules For LPG Consumers
Another major development is linked to customers already using PNG (Piped Natural Gas). According to a recent government order cited by Reuters, households receiving piped natural gas connections may no longer be allowed to purchase LPG cylinders. The restriction has reportedly been introduced to manage LPG supply shortages and to curb dependence on imports, kind of like, you know, less relying on outside sources.
In India, imports make up nearly 60% of its LPG needs, and a big portion arrives from the Middle East. At the same time ongoing geopolitical tensions, plus various supply disruptions has added more worries about fuel availability.

LPG Cylinder Price Hike Possible In June
Consumers are also worried about another LPG price hike from June 1. Domestic LPG cylinder prices had already increased sharply earlier this year.
According to recent LPG price data, the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder currently costs around:
Experts believe rising crude oil prices, higher transportation costs and global supply disruptions may force OMCs to revise LPG prices again in June.
Will Subsidy Rules Change?
There is currently no official announcement regarding fresh LPG subsidy changes for regular domestic users. However, eligible beneficiaries under schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana may continue receiving government support depending on policy revisions in the upcoming months.
Consumers are advised to keep checking the official portals of Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas, for real-time updates about subsidy credits, refill eligibility and the latest revised cylinder prices.
What LPG Consumers Should Do Now?
Because multiple changes are being talked about before June 1, LPG users should do a few things right away and not get confused:
- Track official LPG price announcements at the start of the month
- Avoid panic booking or needless stocking up
- Make sure Aadhaar and KYC details are up to date
- Check refill eligibility before placing any booking
- Keep an eye on subsidy status through the official LPG portals
