Madhya Pradesh Polls: BJP declares 177 candidates, three ministers axed

Bhartiya Janta Party on Friday declared 177 candidates for assembly polls, many sitting legislators have been denied tickets. Eminent leaders that made it to the list are Narottam Mishra, Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Surendra Patwa and Archana Chitnis.

Three ministers Maya Singh from Gwalior, Gaurishankar Shejwar from Raisen and Harsh Singh from Satna have been denied tickets. Two parliamentarians Manoharlal Untwal from Agar constituency and Nagendra Singh from Nagor have been given tickets, however, Member of Parliament from Morena Anoop Mishra couldn’t make it to the list. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will contest from his traditional Budhni seat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with BJP Chief Amit Shah, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and State President Rakesh Singh took the final decision on selecting candidates and Central Election Committee (CEC) comprised of these leaders on Friday morning declared the candidates.
