Magha Navaratri 2022: According to the Hindi Panchang, Navratri of Maa Durga is celebrated four times in a year. The Navratri that comes in the month of Magha is known as Gupt Navratri.

The second is celebrated in the month of Chaitra. And the remaining two Navratri come in the month of Ashadha and Ashwin.

This year, in the month of Magha, Gupt Navratri is starting from 2nd February, which will end by 10th February.

Magha Navaratri 2022: Nine forms of Maa Durga

There are nine forms of Maa Durga, among them Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandmata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri Mata.

These forms of Goddess are worshiped during Navratri.

The ten Mahavidya deities in Gupt Navratri are Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuneshwari, Chhinmasta, Kali, Tripura Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Baglamukhi.

Significance of Gupt Navratri:

  • It is believed that one should follow the rule of celibacy for nine days.
  • Avoid vengeful food these days.
  • According to astrology, sleep on the mat of Kush.
  • Wear yellow or red clothes during Gupt Navratri.
  • Keep Nirjala or fruit fasting.
  • Worship the mother with a sincere heart.
  • Avoid the consumption of garlic-onion these days.
  • Serve and respect the parents.
