Maruti Brezza Facelift: Maruti Suzuki is preparing an updated version of its popular compact SUV, the Brezza. In recent months several test cars have been seen on Indian roads. These spy vehicles suggest that the company is working on a facelift version of the SUV. The second generation Brezza first arrived in 2022, so the model is now reaching the stage where a mid cycle update usually happens.

From the test images it looks like the main shape of the SUV will stay the same. The Brezza is known for its upright and boxy design, and that basic look is expected to continue. But the company seems to be making a number of changes to keep the SUV fresh and competitive in the crowded compact SUV market.

The updated model may get small design tweaks at both the front and rear. Early reports suggest that the SUV could receive a redesigned front bumper and a revised grille. There may also be slight changes to the rear bumper and tail lamp area. The headlights are expected to remain similar in shape but could get slimmer LED elements. New alloy wheel designs have also been spotted on test cars.

Other exterior elements are likely to stay familiar. The SUV should continue to offer LED headlamps with daytime running lights, roof rails and a rear roof spoiler.

Interior Changes and New Features Expected

Inside the cabin the overall layout will probably remain similar to the current Brezza. But Maruti Suzuki may make small updates to improve the look and feel of the interior. These updates could include new seat upholstery, fresh trim materials and a slightly redesigned centre console.

One noticeable change could be a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. The current model already offers a 9 inch screen in top variants, but the updated version may get a larger 10.1 inch display to match newer rivals.

The SUV is also expected to continue offering several modern features. These may include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology and wireless phone charging. Other features that could remain available are a heads up display, cruise control, automatic climate control, ambient lighting and ventilated front seats.

Possible Mechanical Updates

On the mechanical side the facelifted Brezza is expected to continue with the same 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces around 103 PS of power and about 137 Nm of torque.

Gearbox Change

But one interesting change has been spotted in recent test vehicles. The updated SUV may come with a new 6 speed manual gearbox. The current model uses a 5 speed manual transmission, so adding another gear could improve highway driving and overall smoothness.

The automatic version is expected to remain the same 6 speed torque converter. Maruti Suzuki is also likely to continue offering a CNG version of the Brezza. Some reports suggest the CNG model may use an underbody tank layout which could help free up more boot space.
