With the onset of the monsoon season in Telangana, cases of viral fevers, particularly dengue and typhoid, are on a steady rise. Medical professionals are urging the public to take preventive measures to manage the situation effectively. Notably, they emphasize the importance of preventing mosquito bites to curb the spread of these illnesses.

According to Dr. Shankar, Superintendent of Government Fever Hospital, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of outpatients due to the surge in seasonal diseases. Daily, the hospital is seeing around 800 patients suffering from symptoms such as cold, cough, body pains, vomiting, and loose motions. Among these, 5 to 6 cases of dengue and typhoid are being reported.

Dr. Shankar assured that all beds and staff are prepared to handle the seasonal spike in illnesses. He added that the Telangana government has equipped health facilities with the necessary tools to combat these diseases. Citizens are advised to use mosquito nets and maintain clean surroundings to prevent further outbreaks.
