Mukhbir Scheme: UP to reward people who tip off govt about female foeticide

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Mukhbir Scheme in Lucknow on Saturday. Under this scheme, the government will give a reward of Rs 2 lakh to the person who will give information about female foeticide.  Reportedly, 64 rescue vans will now run in districts across the state to aid women.

“Despite discrimination in the society, daughters are doing well today. Bhedbhav ki shuruat hum apne parivaar se karte hain aur sochte hain ki samaj mein koi bhedbhav nahi ho. (We start discrimination from our family and think that there is no discrimination in society). We have to give equality to daughters in the family. These plans will provide protection to women,” said CM Yogi Adityanath while speaking on the sidelines of the event.

CM also praised Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Swati Singh for reaching this scheme in such a huge number of districts.
