Mumbai: Two dead, five rescued while several still feared trapped after building collapsed in Dongri

The fire brigade along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rushed to the building collapse site.

In a shocking incident, a four storey building collapsed in Mumbai’s Dongri area on Tuesday. Two people have died, five have been rescued so far while 40 to 50 people are still feared trapped under the debris after the building collapsed.

The collapsed building was located near Abdul Rehman Shah Dargah on Tandel street. The accident occurred at about 11:40 AM.

Rescue operations are currently underway. The fire brigade along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rushed to the building collapse site. Details on any injuries or casualties were yet not available.

Responding to the accident, BMC Disaster Management Cell said, “Kesarbai building has collapsed at Tandel street, in Dongri, Mumbai. More than 40 people are feared trapped.”
