MV Rao appointed new Jharkhand DGP, Kamal Nayan Chaubey transferred

Rao is a 1987 batch IPS officer. According to the information, Kamal Nayan Choubey has been posted as Special Officer, Police Modernisation Camp, New Delhi.

The Jharkhand Government has made a big change in the police department. Kamal Nayan Chaubey, posted as DGP of the state, has been transferred. In his place, MV Rao, posted as DG Home, has been given the charge of the new DGP of Jharkhand.

Rao is a 1987 batch IPS officer. According to the information, Kamal Nayan Choubey has been posted as Special Officer, Police Modernisation Camp, New Delhi.

Along with this, the state government has upgraded the post of Special Work Officer Police Modernisation Camp New Delhi for the post of Kamal Nayan Choubey in the salary of Director General of Police.

MV Rao’s image has been as an honest police officer. Recently, the state government gave the task of investigating the IPS Anurag Gupta case to MV Rao.

Kamal Nayan Choubey, a 1986 batch IPS officer, was appointed after DGP DK Pandey retired. Chaubey’s father, originally from Kaimur in Bihar, was also in the administrative service. 

Choubey has studied at Delhi University. He has also been the SP in many districts of undivided Bihar. After his return from central deputation in 2014, he was appointed as ADG in ZAP.
